Citizens Fire Academy
Learn firsthand what it's like to be a firefighter during Nolensville’s Fire & Rescue's Citizens’ Fire Academy! During this six-week program, participants complete classroom and hands-on training evolutions to gain a better understanding of fire department operations and emergency response. Topics include firefighting turnout gear, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), vehicle extrication, CPR, search and rescue, hose operations, live firefighting, fire codes, inspections, and much more.
Created in 2023, this free program is open to those who live or work in Nolensville. Participants must be at least 21 years of age and commit to attending five of the six classes. The group meets on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at the Nolensville Fire Station on Haley Industrial Drive.
The 2026 session will start Tuesday, October 6, 2026 and end on Tuesday, November 17, 2026. There will be no class the week of fall break (Tuesday, October 13, 2026).
