The Training Division, commanded by Sergeant Billy Duenez, oversees the training and professional development of all sworn personnel. The Division develops and maintains the Department’s annual training plan to ensure compliance with Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) requirements and departmental mandates. It schedules and coordinates in-service training, roll-call training, field training updates, and required certification courses. The Division also coordinates attendance at specialized schools and outside training opportunities. It maintains accurate and complete training records and submits all required documentation to POST. Additionally, the Training Division supports the implementation of new policies, equipment, and procedures by ensuring personnel receive appropriate instruction and preparation.
