Public Works

Public Works is a vital asset to the Town of Nolensville and helps keep the town running behind the scenes. Public Works staff are primarily responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

  • Maintain condition of right-of-way – mowing and litter pick up
  • Replace and install street signs
  • General maintenance of Town Hall
  • Aid Police Department with equipment maintenance
  • Repair potholes
  • Install seasonal banners
  • Install and maintain holiday lights and decorations
  • Maintain and repair town-owned vehicles and equipment, including police cars, utility vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Provide assistance with Town of Nolensville sponsored events and festivals

Public Works Department 2021-2022 Accomplishments

  • Obtained first salt hopper/plow and put to use
  • Installed Flashing Beacon set on York Road. These are the third set the department has installed in Town at an estimated installation cost savings of $4,000-6,000 per set
  • Installed the Town’s first speed cushions on Baronswood Drive
  • Gained control of sidewalk trip hazard repairs instead of using contractors. By doing so, the Town will save $150-300 per section depending on available material sources and type of repair
  • Assisted with Implementation of new speed limit ordinance and ensured signage throughout the Town was changed to reflect new speed limits (30+ locations required replacement or new signage installation)
  • Reached 8 employees, implemented new crew structure to ensure efficient growth for future town needs
