Nolensville Police Department

The Nolensville Police Department applied for and received a grant from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to purchase equipment for the Town of Nolensville. Funds from this grant fully paid for the purchase of a lighted trailer sign, a DUI goggle training kit, and other safety equipment for the officers.  This equipment purchase for the Town was approximately $20,000.00. In addition to the equipment, the grant funds extra safety patrols for the Town, adding supplementary workforce to assist with traffic safety.

The Nolensville Police Department hosted a K9 demonstration for two Girl Scout troops (2897 & 2992),  K9 Nick and his handler, Sergeant Ali Hemyari, gave a presentation on K9 operations, training, handling, and other legal aspects. The Girl Scouts were extra generous to our department, giving us treats for both our officers (power rings), and K9 Nick (yummy doggie treats).  If anyone else is interested in a K9 demonstration for their group, please contact us at the police department.

The Nolensville Police Department would like to thank Communications Officer, Katie Lester for her assistance in creating a pamphlet for our Senior Assurance Program. This program has been very successful, and the pamphlet will help us spread awareness about our program to our citizens.

The Nolensville Police Department conducted active shooter training as a part of our regular training schedule. Officers received 8 hours of training on different aspects of active shooter scenarios, weapon handling, and working with teams. To keep our skill-sets ready for any situation, we partnered with retired police officer Denny Elliott, the CEO of the High Ground Training Group.

The Nolensville Police Department would like to take a moment to recognize the tragedy at the Covenant School. No words could describe the feeling of sorrow we have for the families affected by this senseless act. We are focused on healing from this event and preparing our department to respond to an event like this. We are very proud of the Metro-Nashville Police Department and the heroic actions of the officers who responded to the school.
