Town Manger Weekly Updates

Town Manager Weekly Update – Friday, September 29th, 2023

Town Manager
This week at our special meeting, the Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to reduce the speed limit on Rocky Fork Road from 35MPH to 30MPH. This change went into effect on Tuesday. Please help us spread the news so we can work together to keep Nolensville safe.

Nolensville Police
This week, the Nolensville Police Department had a multijurisdictional meeting with the United States District Attorney’s Office in Franklin. During this meeting, agencies in attendance talked about cooperative efforts between agencies during investigations and how the district attorney’s office could assist.

Today, the Nolensville Police Department will assist the Nolensville High School with their homecoming parade.  We are excited to see the creative floats in the parade, and everyone in attendance.

Our Reserve Police Unit is growing! The Reserve Unit is an important part of our operation, and we are looking for two highly motivated, civic minded individuals to be a part of our team!

Join us, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 7pm in Town Hall as we host an informational meeting to explain the requirements and expectations for our Reserve Officers.

Nolensville Fire
This week we held the third week of the inaugural Fire Citizens Academy. Chief Windrow taught on Fire Operations.

Our fire station has walls, and the concrete has been poured. We are happy with the progress and looking forward to the completion of the station within the next few months.

Engineering Department
The Town has completed most of the crosswalk improvements on Rocky Fork Road as discussed at the previous BOC meeting. There is still some work remaining for the removal of trees in the right-of-way and HOA property at the Burberry Glen subdivision entrance. The Town has also ordered an additional rectangular rapid flashing beacons for the westbound approach of Rocky Fork Road at Burberry Glen Boulevard as well as flexible high visibility markers to be placed on the lane lines of Rocky Fork Road to create a gateway effect. Town Manager Lay’s memo of September 15, 2023 provides more detail on these measures.

The bid-tabulations have been completed for the Roadway Repair and Repaving project. The low bidder is Sessions Paving at $727,255.00.

The construction of the sidewalk on Catalina Way at Brittain Lane should start within the next two weeks. Rectangular rapid flashing beacons have been ordered for this location as well.

MS-4 Inspector Mr. Wayne Clark has obtained his TDEC Level 1 Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control certification.
