Fire Safety and Education
Within the coming days, the crews will be stopping by all the businesses in town to perform a pre-incident planning where they look for any building or site features that we would need to know such as the closest hydrant location, fire department connections, sprinkler riser rooms and etc. While these are going on, the crews may point out some possible fire code violations that will give the business the opportunity to get them corrected prior to the fire inspector visiting.
There are a lot of myths and misconceptions about home sprinklers. TV and movies like to dramatize sprinklers when one gets activated, they all start spraying water. Or that burnt cooking will set them off. These are not the case, and your local Nolensville Fire & Rescue Department is willing and able to help educate you on your own home sprinkler. Feel free to contact us for questions or an at home explanation of how your sprinkler system works.
Here is a video from the US Fire Administration explaining some of these myths and how they really work.
