We want to recognize the Nashville LPD-13 Division of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) for volunteering at this year's Star Spangled Celebration.

The USNSCC is a nationally recognized youth leadership program supported by the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard for young people ages 10 through high school. It focuses on developing leadership, discipline, teamwork, and confidence through hands-on training and structured activities. Cadets participate in regular drill weekends, summer trainings, and specialized courses in areas such as seamanship, aviation, medical fields, and STEM, all while learning the core values of honor, respect, commitment, and service. Participation in Sea Cadets does not require military service, but it provides valuable life skills and experiences that support both personal growth and future career opportunities.

The Nashville LPD-13 Division is the local Sea Cadet unit serving youth in Middle Tennessee. Its mission is to introduce young people to naval life while building pride, patriotism, teamwork, accountability, and self-reliance in a safe, drug-free environment. Cadets in this unit meet regularly for drills, typically at locations such as the Tennessee Army National Guard base in Smyrna, and participate in a variety of activities including leadership training, field exercises, community service, and special events.
