Meet David Heuberger, the Town of Nolensville’s Construction Inspector!

Originally from Warner Robins, Georgia, David has worked in government for 15 years, four of them serving the Town of Nolensville. Before working for the Town, David was a water treatment plant operator/lab analyst for an industrial wastewater treatment plant in Murfreesboro. Outside of work, he’s an avid collector, and loves golfing, fishing, and traveling to bowling tournaments with his friends from Georgia.

What advice would you give to your younger self starting out?: “Hard work never hurt anyone."

On Tuesday, August 4, beginning at 9:30 a.m., Four Star Paving will repave the intersection of Clovercroft Road and Dante Ranch Lane. The project is expected to be completed the same day.

During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone, with traffic control personnel on site to safely direct vehicles. Motorists should expect delays, plan for additional travel time, and exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.

Meet Alyssa King, the Town of Nolensville’s Municipal Court Clerk!

Originally from Johnson City, Alyssa has been serving the Town of Nolensville for the past three years. Before joining the Town, she worked as the office manager for a physical therapy practice. Outside of work, you’ll likely find Alyssa on the bleachers cheering on her two sons at baseball games. She also enjoys thrift shopping and caring for her lively crew of animals, including three dogs, a cat, goats, and chickens.

What is one unique thing about working in government?: “You have the opportunity to meet so many people in the community and be part of the events in Town. It’s rewarding to serve the people you see every day.”

Favorite community event?: “Star Spangled Celebration. It brings the entire community together, and there’s always such a fun atmosphere.”

What advice would you give to your younger self starting out?: “Take the job! You never know where one opportunity can lead. Saying yes to this position opened doors I never expected.”

What’s a moment that reminded you why you chose this profession?: “Seeing a citizen leave with a smile after I was able to help them. Even the smallest interaction can make someone’s day a little easier, and that's what makes this job worthwhile.”

What does serving Nolensville mean to you? It means providing the best service possible to the town and its community.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is scheduled to conduct utility crossing work on Nolensville Road (State Route 11), just south of the Village Green shopping center. The work is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, and conclude by 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5.

During this time, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area. Motorists should expect delays, plan for additional travel time, and exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Joel has worked in the public sector for 9+ years, seven of them serving the Town of Nolensville. Before working for the Town, Joel worked a variety of jobs from custom framing artwork to managing supply chain and warehouse operations. Outside of work, he loves spending time outdoors, whether it’s spending time with his wife and daughter in their backyard or watching the sun rise from a field side.

What is one unique thing about working in government?: “One unique thing about working for government is being able to see the direct connection between my work and the residents we serve. GIS data may be behind the scenes, but it plays an important role in helping local government make informed decisions that benefit the entire community.”

Favorite community event?: “I've always enjoyed the Veterans Day Parade. Not every community takes that time to honor those who sacrificed for our freedom. It's great to see the younger generation understand the importance behind it, too.”

What advice would you give to your younger self starting out?: “Be patient and stay focused. Value relationships and listen more than you speak. Find a good mentor that you can learn from.”

As part of ongoing roadway improvements, York Road will be closed at Nolensville Road during the week of July 27. A signed detour will direct motorists to use Rocky Fork Road.

The goal is to complete this phase of work by the weekend and reopen York Road, along with the new turn lanes, on Monday, August 3, weather and construction conditions permitting.

Motorists should expect delays, plan for additional travel time, and use caution when traveling through the work zone. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important infrastructure project is completed safely and efficiently.

Construction Notice for Nolensville Road and York Road

The Town of Nolensville announces that Fire Chief Matthew Lupo has accepted a new position in Michigan and will be departing Nolensville Fire & Rescue.

Chief Lupo joined Nolensville Fire & Rescue as a Captain in 2021 and was later promoted to Fire Chief in 2025. We extend our sincere gratitude to Chief Lupo for his years of service and the many contributions he has made to the Town of Nolensville and Nolensville Fire & Rescue. While we are saddened to see him leave, we congratulate him on this new opportunity and wish him continued success in this next chapter of his career.

"Chief Lupo has been a valued leader and an important part of our organization over the past several years," said Town Manager Victor Lay. "His dedication to serving the Town of Nolensville, supporting our firefighters, and helping strengthen our department has made a lasting impact. While we are sorry to see him leave, we are grateful for his service and wish him and his family nothing but the best as they begin this new chapter in Michigan."

“I am excited to move back home to my family and friends where I can serve another great community and work with the devoted members of their department” Chief Lupo said. “I will miss the camaraderie we built in this fire department and the friendly community of Nolensville.”

The Town of Nolensville will share additional information regarding the leadership transition within Nolensville Fire & Rescue in the coming weeks. We remain committed to ensuring a seamless transition and the continued delivery of the high level of service our community has come to expect.

The new traffic signal at the intersection of Nolensville Road and Kidd Road is now fully operational. Here's what drivers need to know:

🟢 Traffic on Nolensville Road will remain green unless a vehicle is waiting on Kidd Road.

đźš— Vehicle detection sensors on Kidd Road will detect waiting vehicles and automatically trigger the signal to change.

⬅️ Vehicles traveling southbound on Nolensville Road and turning left onto Kidd Road will receive an initial 10-second protected left-turn green arrow.

🛑 Drivers on Kidd Road should stop when the signal is red and proceed only when they receive a green light.

As everyone adjusts to the new traffic pattern, please slow down, stay alert, obey all traffic signals, and watch for other drivers.
