The Town of Nolensville is deeply saddened by the passing of Charles Knapper, Nolensville’s founding mayor, whose vision, leadership, and dedication to public service helped shape the community we know today.
Following Nolensville’s referendum to reincorporate in August 1996, Mayor Knapper was elected in the Town’s first municipal election and served as mayor from 1996 to 2006. During those formative years, he played a vital role in establishing the foundation of local government and guiding the Town through a significant chapter in its history.
His legacy extends far beyond his years of service, reflected in the thriving community he helped build and the countless lives he touched through his dedication and leadership. Mayor Knapper’s contributions to Nolensville will be remembered with gratitude for generations to come.
On behalf of the Town of Nolensville’s Board of Commissioners and Town Staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Knapper family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him. We join our community in honoring his life, celebrating his legacy, and expressing our sincere appreciation for his lasting impact on our Town.
