Fire Department
Nolensville Fire is pleased to introduce a new platform called Community Connect. This platform will allow residents and business owners to provide information to Nolensville Fire that they feel is important in case of an emergency. It also has the capacity to help with obtaining burn permits, requesting inspections, and having your smoke detectors serviced.
The Fire Department is excited to report that preparations are underway to put the ladder truck into service. Our team has started the in-house Aerial Apparatus Operator course, certified through the state. This will not only provide top-notch training but also equip our driver-operators with the official credentials they need. Most importantly, our personnel will be fully prepared to operate the ladder safely and effectively in service to the community.
Personnel & Hiring Updates: We're in the final stages of hiring new firefighters who will begin in early August. These recruits will attend a regional fire academy, hosted in partnership with neighboring departments. This collaborative training will ensure they’re ready to face the challenges of the job with both competence and a strong focus on safety.
Medical Certification: Captain Ryan Gaffney has successfully completed his Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) skills checkoffs and is now preparing for the National Registry exam—the final step before receiving his state license. Once certified, he’ll officially add another AEMT to our department roster.
Conferences & Professional Development: Captain Adam Wyngaard and Chief Matthew Lupo recently attended the Southeast Association of Fire Chiefs Conference in Franklin. They returned with valuable insights and training materials that will benefit the department moving forward. Looking ahead, three team members are planning to attend Fire-Rescue International (FRI)—a national conference focused on fire service leadership and officer development.
Call Volume & Community Engagement: While our call volume has remained steady, we've responded to several critical incidents requiring both technical expertise and mutual aid from our neighboring departments.
The community room continues to be an active gathering place, with several groups making use of the space. We've also had a number of station tours and crew visits, helping strengthen our connection with the community.
Spotlight: Ladder Truck Feature - If you missed it, don’t forget to check out Issue 7 of Nolensville Town Life for a fantastic article covering the many functions of our new ladder truck. It’s a great resource to learn how this asset will benefit the town from day one!
