Federal Census and Special Census

The Town of Nolensville conducted a special census in late 2023. The purpose of the special census was to ensure we receive our fair share of State Shared Tax dollars based on our overall population. State Shared Taxes are distributed to municipalities across the State of Tennessee based on population and with the growth of the town, it was evident that we were missing out on State Shared Tax dollars. Previously, the Town of Nolensville received the State Shared Tax dollars based on the population from the last Census conducted in 2020. After completing the 2023 special census, the 2024 Certified Population for the Town of Nolensville is 16,836.
