
Tree Removal Permit
Step 1. Check the conditions
Tree Removal requests must meet ALL of the compliance requirements as noted in the Town of Nolensville's Subdivision Regulations and/or Zoning Ordinance, as applicable.
Existing trees on a Lot or Building Site or Development Site shall not be removed or disturbed unless the Trees are removed in accordance with an approved Development Plan, Site Plan, Preliminary Plat, Building Permit, or Grading Permit that meets Sections 6.8.4 & 6.8.5 of the Town's Zoning Ordinance.
The Zoning Administrator or Town Arborist, as applicable, may issue a Tree Removal Permit only when the tree or trees proposed for removal is or are not:
Located in an open space, conservation easement or Civic Space.
Part of required landscape material or contributes to the screening function of a required landscape area.
The subject of a condition of approval requiring retention of the tree or trees.
A Specimen Tree.
How to request a Tree Removal Permit:
Step 1. Submit Application
Complete an application and submit to the Planning Department through the online portal with the required supporting documents, if applicable.
Step 2. Staff Review
The Zoning Administrator or Town Arborist if any, shall review the Application for completeness & compliance.
Step 3. Final Action
Staff will provide the applicant with documentation of either an approval or denial following their review. If you are denied, an explanation will be provided.
