Now Hiring: Full Time Town Recorder

The Town of Nolensville is currently accepting applications for a Town Recorder.

The Town Recorder is responsible for the preparation, custody, and preservation of Town public records, including Ordinances, Resolutions, minutes, official business of Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings, contracts, and related documents. This highly visible position provides an invaluable service to the Town and its citizens.

The Town Recorder is responsible for the daily operation of Town government activities and support services under the general supervision of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Instructions to the employee are general and the employee must routinely use independent judgement when completing tasks. The work requires frequent contact with the Mayor and Board, committees, all department heads and employees and the general public. The Town Recorder must coordinate these to assure the effective and efficient operation of the Town government.

 

The ideal candidate is a highly professional, confidential and ethical team player who can maintain diplomacy while executing his/her duties in an efficient and effective manner.

 

Required skills: strong organizational skills and attention to detail, knowledge of municipal code, zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, TCA, critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to operate standard office equipment, Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or a combination of education and experience in a related field is required. 3 - 5 years of applicable experience is preferred. Must have or be capable of obtaining State Certification for Municipal Clerks and Recorders within one year of employment.
