Weekly Nolensville News - May 10th

Nolensville News – Friday, May 10th

Town Manager
The Town of Nolensville is pleased to announce its partnership with Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) to assist in ensuring the accuracy of special census data. Field workers and town employees have conducted and completed door-to-door visits throughout Nolensville in record time. The next step will be for GNRC to finish their portion of the verification process in office before our census is sent to the state. Thank you to our community for making this step in the process a seamless one!

Police Department
May is National Bike Safety Month! This week our Nolensville Police Department helped Nolensville Elementary students’ bike to school on Wednesday. We take pride in being involved in the community however we can, especially when it promotes safety for our youth!

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day. Join us on Wednesday May 15th, at 6pm for Nolensville Police Department’s first annual Walk of Remembrance for National Police Week. The three mile walk with our police officers will be our community’s opportunity to unite and honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. The event will start and end at Nolensville High School with the opportunity for participants to take photos with our police officers and their vehicles. We ask that parents accompany children under the age of 18 and encourage everyone to wear something blue!

Fire Department
May is Water Safety Month! Make sure you follow us on social media (@nolensvillefire) for safety tips throughout the month. If you are looking for additional water safety information, click HERE for our safety flyers. We also have water safety activities for kids on our kids corner. Click HERE to access those free downloadable activities!

This week, we sent two fire crews to Maury County to help with search and rescue efforts and road clearing from the tornado. Thank you to our local businesses, Ace Hardware and Oh My Chives for giving us the equipment and nourishment we need to help those in surrounding counties.

Human Resources Department
