2004-11 Beer Board Meeting
Nolensville Beer Board
November 4, 2004, 6:00 p.m., Town Hall

Members Present were Charles Knapper, Tommy Dugger, Larry Felts, Gail Phillips, and Frank Wilson.

The meeting was opened at 6:05 p.m. to review an application from El Texano, Mr. Don Piercey.

Board Member Dugger noted that this was an on premise permit request and asked if any of the four owners had any prior felonies.

Mr. Piercey stated no.

Board Member Knapper asked if there were any wait staff under the age of 18. Mr. Piercey stated there was no one under the age of 18 that waited tables. He further stated that his partner has been in the food business for a number of years and is familiar with the laws.

Mr. Dugger noted that currently the town has one on premise permit. This applicant agreed to keep this “low-key”, with no advertising blitz, no table tents or signs advertising. Mr. Piercey asked if he could have neon signs. The board noted that the zoning ordinance does not permit these signs.

Mr. Piercey stated that he is from Nolensville and has never noticed signs and would work to do what the board would like. Mr. Dugger stated that he would like the conditions as previously stated, although, the restaurant could advertise the beer in the menu. Mr. Dugger further noted that he would like for the applicant to send the employees to a school that gives employees insight and knowledge on alcohol consumption. Mr. Knapper stated that this will be a condition for the permit.

With these conditions Board member Felts made a motion to approve this permit, Board member Wilson seconded and this passed unanimously.

Board member Dugger reiterated the aforementioned conditions. No neon signs, no wall signs, no table tent advertising and employees must be trained.

Mr. Piercey thanked the board and stated that he wanted to comply with the request.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted, Approved,
