Fire Engineer/Firefighter

The Town of Nolensville is accepting applications for the position of Fire Engineer/Firefighter. We are currently seeking engineers that must be certified at Fire Fighter II by IFSAC, Pro Board or the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting at the time of appointment. Also, the candidate should have an EMR license from the State of Tennessee or National Registry.

The candidate must be able to communicate both orally and in written form effectively. The candidate must be able to follow directions from supervisors and carry out assigned tasks. The candidate must be able to maintain a very high level of personal integrity, have good judgment, and be able to make sound decisions independently, with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Citizen of the United States
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience driving and operating fire trucks preferred
  • Fire Fighter II
  • EMR license from the State of Tennessee National Registry
  • Valid "Class D" Driver's License.
  • Have not been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violations of any federal or state laws or town ordinances.
  • Satisfactory driving record: candidate’s driving record will be considered part of the background investigation for this position.
  • Honorable discharge from Military Service (if applicable)
  • Meet the medical requirements of NFPA 1582.
  • Meet standards set by the Tennessee Fire Commission.

The testing process will consist of a written test, physical performance test and an in-person interview. This process will take place on May 22nd and May 23rd.
