Update of Comprehensive Plan

The Planning Commission is updating the Vision Statement, Goals and Objectives set by the Comprehensive Plan. The first  step of this process is to update the Vision Statement of the Plan.

The current Vision Statement is below

"Nolensville should retain its small town character, scenic value, and ecological quality, while accommodating carefully controlled growth.  Such growth should provide housing opportunities, needed community services and shopping opportunities, job creation, fiscal revenues, and the necessary infrastructure to support growth. Growth should be compact, land efficient and not pose a financial strain on the municipal government and it's existing residents."

Recent discussion at the Planning Commission considered creating language that would include some or all of the bullet points below:

  • Preservation of Mill Creek
  • Fiscally solvent development
  • Connectivity
  • Naturally healthy, live work leisure
  • Quality aesthetics
  • Preserving and high lighting History of the area
Comments from the public are welcome through email or during public comment prior to each Planning Commission meeting.  A special public hearing will be set to specifically discuss the vision statement and hear from the public.
