Exempt Signs Not Requiring a Permit

The following Signs are Exempt Signs and do not require a Sign Permit in accordance with section 7.1.10 of the Nolensville Zoning Ordinance.

1. Address Signs
One Address Sign per tenant or owner.

2. Certain Small Signs
Up to two (2) On-premises Signs not exceeding four (4) square feet in area that are located along the route to a place or location within such premises or are provided for safety.

3. Governmental Signs
Signs placed by the Town or any other governmental unit with jurisdiction over the area where the sign is placed.

4. Certain Integrated Signs
Signs carved into stone, concrete or similar material or made of bronze, aluminum, or other permanent construction and made an integral part of the structure.

5. Temporary Signs
Temporary Signs allowed under Section 7.1.7.

6. Historic & Memorial Signs
Signs denoting a property as historic or in memorial of an event or person. Such Signs shall be authorized by the Historic Zoning Commission and shall not exceed four (4) square feet per face. Such Signs, if free-standing, shall be limited to one (1) per Frontage, four (4) feet in height; and shall be located five (5) feet from any lot line. Such Signs, if Wall Signs, shall be inlaid in order to be integral to the Facade cut into stone or masonry, or be permanently affixed to the building as a plaque of aluminum or bronze.
