Now Hiring: Full Time Codes Inspector 1 or 2 

The Town of Nolensville is seeking to hire a Codes Inspector for a newly created position. Depending on experience and qualifications, the position may be either a Codes Inspector I or Codes Inspector II. The Codes Inspector will maintain a highly visible and integral role within the Town, with the responsibility to:

  • perform routine semi-skilled and technical field inspection work for industrial, commercial and residential building projects during all phases of construction, renovation and/or remodeling projects
  • issue permits
  • work with contractors, industry and the general public to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes and standards
  • ensure contractual provisions are met

Minimum qualifications for a Codes Inspector I include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of construction or inspection experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. ICC Certificates and/or State of TN certificates must be obtained within one year of employment.

Minimum qualifications for a Codes Inspector II include a high school diploma or GED and 5-7 years of construction or inspection experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. ICC Certificates and/or State of TN certification required.

Must be physically capable of moving about on construction work sites. Normal working hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Now Hiring: Full Time Town Recorder 

The Town of Nolensville is currently accepting applications for a Town Recorder.

The Town Recorder is responsible for the preparation, custody, and preservation of Town public records, including Ordinances, Resolutions, minutes, official business of Board of Mayor and Aldermen meetings, contracts, and related documents. This highly visible position provides an invaluable service to the Town and its citizens.

The Town Recorder is responsible for the daily operation of Town government activities and support services under the general supervision of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Instructions to the employee are general and the employee must routinely use independent judgement when completing tasks. The work requires frequent contact with the Mayor and Board, committees, all department heads and employees and the general public. The Town Recorder must coordinate these to assure the effective and efficient operation of the Town government.

 

The ideal candidate is a highly professional, confidential and ethical team player who can maintain diplomacy while executing his/her duties in an efficient and effective manner.

 

Required skills: strong organizational skills and attention to detail, knowledge of municipal code, zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, TCA, critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to operate standard office equipment, Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or a combination of education and experience in a related field is required. 3 - 5 years of applicable experience is preferred. Must have or be capable of obtaining State Certification for Municipal Clerks and Recorders within one year of employment.

Now Hiring: Temporary Finance Assistant 

The Town of Nolensville is seeking a temporary Finance Assistant.  This position will assume the duties of our current Finance Assistant who will be out on maternity leave scheduled for early March 2020. 

This position is responsible for both accounting and human resource functions.  These duties include processing accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, employment verifications, benefits administration, new hire paperwork, and maintaining employee files.

Other office duties such as filing, distributing mail, and answering phones are also required.

 

We are looking for a professional, team-oriented individual to train sometime during the November-February timeframe. Hours are flexible between the normal office hours of 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. 

Training will be part-time but once maternity leave starts, ideally the individual will be able to work about 30 hours per week estimated to last through May.

Minimum salary is $16.01/hour, depending on experience. Minimum 2 years accounts payable and payroll experience required. Since this is a part-time, temporary position, no other benefits are available.

Now Hiring: Full Time Police Officer 

The Town of Nolensville is seeking to hire an additional full-time police officer with preference given to applicants that are Tennessee P.O.S.T. certified at the time of appointment.

 

The position of Police Officer is responsible for the protection of the lives, property, safety, and security of the citizens and visitors to the Town of Nolensville. The position of Police Officer shall enforce the laws of the State of Tennessee, the United States, and ordinances of the Town of Nolensville.

 

The candidate must have the ability to be an organized person who can meet time schedules and deadlines. The candidate must be able to communicate both orally and in written form effectively. The candidate must be able to follow directions from supervisors and carry out assigned tasks. The candidate must be able to maintain a very high level of personal integrity, have good judgment, and be able to make sound decisions independently, with minimal supervision.

 

Must be at least 21 years of age, citizen of the U.S., high school graduate or GED, Valid "Class D" Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record, and have not been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violations of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor or controlled substance.
