Town Recorder

The Town Recorder's duties are set by the Town Charter. This department is the official record keeper for the Town of Nolensville. Duties include recording and maintaining the Board's official actions in the minutes; coordinating and distributing the agendas; maintaining contracts and agreements as well as composing ordinances and resolutions for the Town of Nolensville; and attesting signatures of the Mayor and Board. 

  • Maintains record management for all Town departments
  • Maintains accurate records of all business proceedings of the Board
  • Acts as custodian for Town ordinances, resolutions, deeds, and contracts
  • Maintains Town Charter and Municipal Code
  • Maintains official records for the Town
  • Facilitates the Town’s portion of beer and liquor license applications and renewals

The Recorder oversees the adoptions and publishing of the Code of Ordinances and helps to ensure that all open record requests are in accordance to the Open Records Act as per as required by T.C.A. 10-7-503(g).

In accordance with Tennessee law, most records maintained by the Town of Nolensville  are public records available for review. The Tennessee Public Records Act (TPRA) grants Tennessee citizens the right to access open public records that exist at the time of the request. TPRA does not require records custodians to compile information or create records that do not exist. Please see fee schedule for cost associated for printed documents. Please note that T.C.A. § 10-7-504(a)(20)(C) permits charging for redaction of private records.

Town Recorder 2022-2023 Accomplishments

  • Created a tracking system to note the date of the regular meeting and the date the agenda package is transmitted/posted.
  • Distributed Board of Commissioner regular meeting packets to Commissioners and other Town officials via email, and the general public via the Town’s website six (6) days in advance of regular meeting at least 95% of meetings.
  • Responded to public information requests in a timely manner but no later than 7 business days. In the event the response will require more than 7 business days, responded to the applicant as soon as possible to explain need for extension.
